Suggestion Box (April 26 – May 2)

Sorry for the late posting (cuz I know all of you have been like: “What the heck Lauren!  It’s long past the 2nd.  Where my recommendations be at fool?”  That’s right, that’s how people talk in my mind), but the end of a period in one’s life can get a little time consuming.  So I am a little backlogged, but on the bright side your anticipation can grow for the upcoming rental reviews of An Education (really good) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (heck no), and a gaming review of Halo: ODST (pretty good).  Ooo, so exciting!

Movies:

Buried Teaser Trailers – This simple trailer isn’t much to look at, but it is a nice way of introducing the premise of the film.  And Ryan Reynolds, ooo…  Check it out here.  But if you are more for visuals, check out the original teaser as well here.

Jonah Hex Trailer – A trailer has finally been released for this supernatural (to what extent, I’m not sure) western, and it’s looking pretty interesting.  And ooo!  Will Arnett!  But I really want to know what the little blurbs I have been reading mean by the bad guy releasing “Hell on Earth.”  We talking demon apocalypse or something?  Check it out here and decide for yourself.

Splice Trailer – A sci-fi film delving into the debate of using human DNA to further scientific experimentation.  I still don’t really know how I feel about this one, but I like the actors, so I will give it a shot.  Check it out here to see what you think about it.

Gaming:

Alan Wake Trailer and Hands on Preview – (XBOX 360) – Yep, this psychological thriller does not look any less creepy, especially with that voice over, but I am still excited after this additional look at the game.  Check out the trailer here.  And if you want to hear someone who helped create the game spill a little more information about it, such as the fact that anything (including trees!?) in the environment can attack you.  AH!!!  Check that out here.

Halo: Reach Birth of a Spartan (Live Action) Trailer – (XBOX 360) – Looks painful.  Check it out here.

Infamous 2 – (PS3) – Last year Sony and Sucker Punch released an action adventure game revolving around a bike messenger that wakes up with electricity based superpowers following an explosion that throws his city into devastation and government quarantine.  Your job is to either play hero or further the destruction as more and more is divulged about what really happened.  Though there was no doubt in my mind that it would get a sequel, things are looking pretty up because Sony has just registered the domain Infamous2TheGame.com.  If you haven’t played the first game yet, I highly recommend you get yourself a copy.

The Internets:

Julian Smith Videos – So I was looking at things on Youtube this week and long story short I was directed to the page of this guy named Julian Smith. The videos he makes are pretty hilarious so you should check them out.  An example of which is here.  But if you don’t like his type of humor then you should watch this video in which he and a group of people created a song out of the different parts on a Jeep.  Check that out here.  No really, do it.
