TV Review: The Walking Dead 1.3 Tell It To The Frogs

The third entry into the series is the least zombie filled episode yet, and while that was a tad disappointing, focusing on the humans was almost just as engaging and compelling as the rest of the series.

Now Playing Review – Morning Glory

Ever since I was little and I fell witness to a horrifying story about a raging fire on the news I have had a strong aversion to that form of broadcast. And unless it is riddled with sarcastic references to current events, such as The Colbert Report or Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live, it […]

Still Playing Review – Hereafter

Following the disappointment of the film adaptation of The Lovely Bones last year I was looking for a new film about life after death to invest my hopes in. Following first seeing the trailer for Hereafter it quickly became that film for me, and I expected that it would do what Bones was unable to […]

TV Review: The Walking Dead 1.2: Guts

“Guts” is the second episode in this first season of The Walking Dead and the intensity and creativity of the series is still in full swing.

Review: 127 Hours

127 Hours is an intense and inventive telling of Aron Ralston’s harrowing true story that Danny Boyle makes the most out of a rather limited film experience. Aron Ralston’s story is an unbelievable tale from the early 2000’s in which this adventurous mountain biker, hiker, outdoor kid is out on a hike when his arm […]

Review: Unstoppable

Tony Scott’s latest, Unstoppable, is a straight forward suspense action thriller that fails to ever live up to the intensity it hopes to create. The plot is simple; a runaway, unmanned, train is barreling through Pennsylvania carrying explosive materials. It must be stopped before it hits an elevated turn in the middle of a highly […]

Now Playing Review – Unstoppable

An unmanned train carrying hazardous materials is barreling down a stretch of track at 70 miles/hour that eventually passes through populated areas. A second train is also on this track traveling in the opposite direction towards it. If the second train is traveling at 40 miles/hour, how soon will the impending collision occur? Okay, so […]

Review: Morning Glory

Morning Glory is a funny (if a tad uninspired) tale about the rejuvenating of a morning news show that does fairly well till a perplexing third act almost ruins a potentially very fine piece of entertainment. Now if I was a well versed critic I would probably start by writing this film off as paling […]

Now Playing Review – Due Date

Road trips seem like a fun idea on paper because of all the excitement they promise. There is the car crammed like a clown car full of duffle bags and people, mix tapes to sing joyously along to, snacks to munch on because restaurants are for the undedicated, etc. But once you are actually in […]

Review: Megamind

Megamind is a not bad but not great film that takes a very scatter shot approach at lampooning the superhero genre and never steps out with its own message or voice. The premise of the film is familiar as it is basically ripping off every superhero movie before it. Megamind, like Superman, is jettisoned from […]
