This week’s Suggestion Box has the trailer for Heartless, True Grit, Wild Target, and a second trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 and for Skyline. Also, we’ve got a trailer for the upcoming DLC for Read Dead Redemption (Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare). Clearly we are getting closer to Halloween with this selection.
Movies:
Heartless Trailer – Well this is pretty far from singing Beatles songs… Jim Sturgess makes a deal with the devil, or someone else with equally ominous deals to be made for a “better” life, in this film about the underworld creeping into ours. Nothing necessarily new, but I do love Sturgess as an actor and am intrigued to see how he does in this one.
Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer #2 – When I saw the first trailer for this film I said that if anything happened to that baby I would be extremely upset, and what does she go and do? She messes with the baby! Seriously, with this on top of watching the Skyline trailer (see my response to that right after this one) I will be lucky if I get any sleep tonight.
Skyline Trailer #2 – OMG I don’t even know how to respond to this trailer in coherent sentences because so much just went through my mind. 1 – Just the beginning (which had amazing lighting) made me afraid to go to bed. Scratch that, I am afraid to get off of this couch right now. This may seem like an overreaction, but given one of my biggest fears is ET no one should be surprised. 2 – The visuals look phenomenal, but I will not let that overwhelm me because I thought the same thing going into 2012 and look where that got me. 3 – Towards the end I was starting to get the feeling that I had when I saw the trailer for Pirahna 3D. Whether or not this is a good thing is still up for debate. Watch the trailer and see what you think.
True Grit Trailer – Maybe I am still riding high on the Read Dead Redemption experience (see the exciting news for that down below in Gaming), which is why I am feeling mighty happy that there is a movie that is looking to be able to give me a similar experience in far less time. And probably less herding as well. Not much is given away in this trailer (which these days is a blessing), but with the list of people involved in this and the classic tale of vengeance, it’s looking to be a must see.
Wild Target Trailer – The voice over guy may have the voice that goes with a film that should not have much expected out of it, but I am going to go with an optimistic look towards this one. Bill Nighy is unable to pull the trigger after being hired to take out Emily Blunt. Apparently people don’t take fondly to discovering that they have fallen victim to a con artist’s mad skills. Somewhere along the way Ron, I mean Rupert Grint, gets picked up to tag along. Let the British comedy begin.
Gaming:
Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare DLC Pack – As much fun as I had playing the main body of Red Dead Redemption, there was just something about it that didn’t really draw me to replaying the solo campaign. And you know me, my lack of enthusiasm for multiplayer didn’t really have me pining for more Free Roam time. Well if there are any others out there like me than our day has finally come! Right when I was about to go sell this game back I catch wind of a new DLC pack that is going to have new solo missions! Now the downside for me is that it is a zombie outbreak. Sounds great I bet for most of you, but I am gonna have nightmares for weeks. Especially if a zombie bear comes out of nowhere and mauls me. That was traumatizing enough when it was just a normal grizzly…
