Movies:
Let Me In International Trailer – Many of you might remember that a couple years ago a Swedish film titled Let the Right One In was released, based on the vampire novel of the same name. Well, it didn’t take long for the English version to get made with Chloe Moretz as the young vampire (you might remember her as the best part of Kick-Ass). Even though the novel and foreign film are still on my to do list I cannot help but get excited for the newest adaptation. Check it out for yourselves here.
Operation: Endgame Red Band Trailer – An action/comedy in which groups of assassin’s start attacking each other in an underground base. What more could you ask for? Oh, you want Zach Galifianakis as an ex-spy? You got it. Check it out here.
Paranormal Activity 2 Teaser Trailer – The sequel to the beyond creepy first film seems to be bringing back a familiar face if the shadowy figure is who I think it is, which does not look good for the new family to be haunted. I must say that I am really intrigued to see how this one is going to be shot because the footage shown so far has not been handheld, but looks more like security camera footage (and a baby monitor?). I will say now if that dog dies I will hate this film with a fiery passion. Oh, and please don’t harm the baby either. Check it out here. And if you haven’t seen the first yet, grab a buddy and do so now.
Rango Trailer – Little can be gleaned from the synopsis for this film: “The story of a chameleon with an identity crisis,” but I cannot wait to learn more about it after seeing the newest trailer. The animation is some of the strongest I have seen so far with its blend of realistic and cartoon like qualities, and it also has some great voice acting to boot (including Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, and Alfred Molina). Check it out here.
Spider-Man News – If you haven’t heard yet, Spider-man is going back to high school in the next spider-man film, and this week the role was filled by Andrew Garfield. I guess the whole going younger thing wasn’t really a top priority since he is almost 27, far from the age of the high schooler. With that said I am still excited to see what he brings to the character. From what I have seen of him in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Boy A he is an exceptionally strong actor, and now we will get to see how he handles action and harnesses. Check out some of his other films if you haven’t done so already.
Gaming:
Portal 2 – This years E3 was littered with sequels to great games that were on my list of games to play. So the first place I started was with Portal (review to come soon). The puzzles and level design of the game were amazing, and though the world didn’t look the most beautiful I forgave it since I downloaded for pretty cheap in the XBOX marketplace. With that said, the videos for the sequel shows that they are making some major improvements, including the quirky sense of humor and the return of an old friend. Check it out here.
