The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Teaser Trailer

*Spoiler alert*

I’m personally a fan of the books, and I have high hopes for this film. This trailer however, is crappy just as I expected it to be. They decide to focus on the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob instead of anything else. There were no shots of Victoria’s new vampire mate, her vampire army, or the wolf pack. And did anyone notice the cast change for the role of Victoria? Despite her fake red hair, I thought Rachelle Lefevre was perfect for the role of Victoria. Now they’ve replaced her with someone I find far too ugly to be a vampire.

There can only be one reason why they focused on the love triangle in the trailer, more viewers. Personally, I think it’s a very stupid marketing strategy. People who are already Twilight fans will see this movie no matter what. They should spin Eclipse as an vampire action movie to broaden the audience spectrum. Anyone with any common sense should know Bella is going to end up with Edward. Twilight is a book series about vampires, NOT werewolves. I guess we’ll have to wait until June 30 to find out how good this movie turns out.

  1. I myself enjoyed the trailer and it looked a lot better than what I was picturing. I was actually hoping that they would show the rest of the Cullens and the fight scenes but I know they are still in the editing process. I knew they replaced Rachelle back in July, so a lot of us were prepared for that. I am excited to see what Bryce is going to bring to the role. From what the cast says about her, she sounds like she is going to do well with it.

I have a feeling like with Twilight and New Moon, they are going to probably release another trailer or two once the editing is close to completion. Either way, I am excited to see with all my friends when it comes out June 30th.

  2. Maybe I am having a serious brain malfunction, but I don’t remember any zombies in the books. What are you referring to? And as for the marketing, they know their fan base so they are going to play to their strengths. And honestly, Twilight as a contender for the “action” genre would be quite laughable. For starters, no one would fall for the marketing ploy, and just think about the anticlimactic nature of the 4th book’s final “battle”. I was really upset by that one, but then again I was going on some major sleep deprivation from staying up reading the book… And let’s face it, I will still be seeing this movie, and even though I will spend the majority of the film uncomfortably laughing at the melodrama and overdramatic acting, I will secretly be enjoying myself on the inside.

  3. Oops I meant her vampire army. I was thinking vampires, werewolves, so naturally zombies popped in my head. Trust me, in no way do I think Eclipse would be a good action movie. I was just thinking with the right marketing angle, they could get more audience. Predominantly the brainless people who would see any kind of action movie. Or the boyfriends that are being dragged by their girlfriends, maybe they can enjoy the movie more lol.
